Willkommen bei der VSHN, Daniel!

Nach meinem Informatik-Bachelor-Abschluss im 2012 war ich für sechs Jahre als System Engineer und System Administrator bei einem KMU in Luzern tätig. In diesem KMU wurde Software im Bereich Digital Signage entwickelt und diese bei Kunden integriert. Ich war als System Engineer verantwortlich für das Deployment der auf Tomcat basierten Webapplikation bei Kunden. Als System Administrator zeichnete ich mich verantwortlich für die gesamte interne IT-Infrastruktur.

Willkommen im VSHN-Team, Jan!

Seit dem 18. Februar bin ich jetzt bei der VSHN – geplant war das jedoch nicht. Ich bin im Januar aus Deutschland hierher gekommen und hatte erstmal eine Stelle in einem anderen Unternehmen. Dann habe ich jedoch recht schnell gemerkt, dass mir die Arbeit dort nicht so zusagt, da vor allem mit Windows und Microsoft Produkten gearbeitet wurde. Ich bin jedoch schon seit meinem Informatikstudium begeisterter Anwender von Linux und der Gedanke von Open Source liegt mir einfach sehr am Herzen.

On January 30th and 31st 2019, the Container Stack, a two-day event on Kubernetes with one day of workshops and one day of conference, took place for the first time at the FIFA World Football Museum Zurich. VSHN was co-sponsor of the event.

Aarno’s Transformation Talk at Inside Channels Forum 2019

On Jan 31st 2019, the Inside Channels Forum 2019 with the big players of the Swiss ICT industry took place in the Kultur- and Kongresshaus in Aarau. VSHN was there and our CTO Aarno held a Transformation Talk with the topic “How we made the entry into the IT business with DevOps, Cloud and Docker” (in German).

Impressions Knative Meetup at VSHN

Between the Container Stack workshop on Wednesday Jan 30th and the conference on Thursday Jan 31st 2019, we organized a Knative CNCF meetup at VSHN. Mark Chmarny (TPM Serverless, Google) and Sebastien Goasguen (Founder, Triggermesh) spoke about about Knative, the Kubernetes framework for building, deploying, and managing serverless workloads. Despite the short notice (we planned the meetup 1 week in advance) we had a full house at VSHN.
